Dress Code

DRESS CODE - GOLF COURSE

Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club desires to maintain a standard of dress and appearance on the course consistent with a private club for ladies and gentlemen. When using the on the golf course or practice areas, members and guests are required to dress using good taste. The Club reserves the right to deny access and playing privileges to those not appropriately attired.

The dress code applies to members and guests of all ages while on the golf course or practice areas.

WOMEN:
Tailored slacks, skirts, dresses, split skirts, Bermuda-type shorts, capris, and knickers are appropriate golf attire. Skirts and dresses are to be no higher than 5 inches above the center of the front of the knee. Shorts are to be no higher than 5 inches above the center of the front of the knee or 18 inches in total length. Caps and visors are to be worn bill forward.
MEN:
Slacks or Bermuda-type shorts no higher than 5 inches above the center of the front of the knee or 18 inches in total length, but no longer than 21 inches in total length, are permitted. Collared or turtleneck shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Shirts must have sleeves and be worn tucked in. Caps and visors are to be worn bill forward.
NOT PERMITTED:
Appropriate dress does not include five pocket jeans or denim clothing of any color or type, cargo pants, cut-offs, baggy or grunge-style clothing, jogging suits, leggings, drawstring or elastic waistband pants or shorts, halter tops, tube tops, bare or exposed midriffs, t-shirts/undershirts, tank tops or other extreme cut-away tops, stretch pants, tennis/swimming/running attire, single-toed thongs (flip-flops, go-aheads), or metal spiked shoes.

It is the responsibility of all members to inform their guests concerning the appropriate attire at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, to avoid any possible embarrassment.

The Board of Governors has authorized the Staff to ask any member or guest to change before using the golf facilities, or leave the premises, should they be in violation of the Dress Code.

DRESS CODE - CLUBHOUSE

The following standards of dress and appearance are established to provide for member comfort, relaxation, and informality as well as carry on the rich tradition and character of understated elegance of the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. The Club reserves the right to deny access and service to anyone not appropriately attired.

DINING ROOM:
Ladies are to wear appropriate evening attire. Casual attire is permitted before 5:30 p.m. and for special events as determined by the Board of Governors. Tennis attire and golf shoes are not permitted in the dining room.
GRILL ROOM, MEETING ROOMS, AND BAR:
Approved casual and tennis attire is permitted.
CASUAL ATTIRE:
When wearing casual attire, members shall exercise good taste. Tailored slacks, knickers, Bermuda style shorts no higher than 5 inches above the center of the front of the knee or 18 inches in total length, and warm-up suits are appropriate casual attire. Men are to wear sleeved collared or turtleneck shirts with shirttails tucked in unless designed specifically to be worn on the outside.
GENERAL APPEARANCE:
Men are required to remove hats and caps in the Clubhouse. Appropriate dress does not include cargo pants, cut-offs, baggy or grunge-style clothing, leggings, halter tops, t-shirts/undershirts, tube tops, bare or exposed midriffs, tank tops or other extreme cut-away tops, stretch pants or tight fitting trousers, sweat suits, swimming or running attire, single-toed thongs (flip-flops, go-aheads), or metal spiked golf shoes.
GUESTS:
It is the responsibility of all members to inform their guests concerning the appropriate attire at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, to avoid any possible embarrassment.
